ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY AND MEDIA IN EDUCATION WEEK 1

TASK:              Creating Mindmapping Concept

  •     Use lines, symbols, words, clours and images to display different mind mapping concept.

Before I began even begin to do mindmapping, steps would have to be made to ensure that you have an understanding of the task.  Google became my best friend when it came to reading and reasearching, and it was there that I discovered the meaning of mindmapping and saw examples. I then had an idea on how to mindmap.

I was then faced with the challenge of coming up with my own mindmapping concept with a partner.  I was at first confused as to what concept to use but we then decided to use our subject are 💖CRAFT💖.  We both loved TIE & DYE, so we used that as the CONCEPT and the MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES and USES as the BRANCHES My TWIGS on the branch (Materials) consisted of fabric, dye, water, rubberbands, followed by (Techniques) sunburst, folding, pebbling, rouching and lastly (Uses) clothes, curtains, table cloths, cushions.

I learnt that mind mapping is visualizing information which can be organized date, a diagram or by using concept(s).  Mind mapping is categorized into three (3) types, knowledge map, problem solving map and project map.

I benefited from what I learnt due to knowing that mind mapping is a knowledge sharing tool and method which translate what is in your mind into a visual picture.

I will use mind mapping in my Visual Arts class to encourage students to visually display their ideas of the outcome of an art piece.  This will help them to know what is expected of them in order to have a succesful end product.
