POWERPOINT WEEK 7
TASK: CLASS ACTIVITY TO CREATE A POWERPOINT
According to Wendy Russell (2017) PowerPoint is a presentation software program that is part of the Microsoft Office package. PowerPoint, she said, uses a graphical approach to presentations in the form of slide shows that accompany the oral delivery of the topic. this program is widely used in business and classroom and is an effective tool when used for training purposes.
Below is a video which shows you how to use PowerPoint.
This class
activity was created in such an interesting and interacting way that it allows
individuals to discover and learn new things with the help of the class. Our lecturer, Mrs. Marsh, created tasks
pertaining to the creation of a PowerPoint where individuals were selected
randomly to execute one task. Individuals had
to create a new background for the PowerPoint, add additional pages, add a
title and topic, add relevant points to support the topic, use interesting
features to enhance the visual appearance for example the use of pictures and
music. It took team work to complete the tasks and we succesfully did just that. Whilst helping
my peers, I watched and created a PowerPoint of my own to have
a better understand of what was expected of me.

I learnt
that there are many ways to make teaching and learning fun and interesting for
both teacher and students. Teachers have
the use of softwares to pass on information in a different way that would
appeal visually and auditory to students.
The most interesting
thing about learning to create a PowerPoint was that two (2) days later, I was
given an assignment where I had to create a PowerPoint based on a research. I was
smiling from ear to ear doing the happy dance because I learnt the necessary
steps to successfully complete the task now set to me in another subject area.
In my area
of teaching, a PowerPoint presentation would be asked of from students to
identify key points in researches that would be given to them. I believe the PowerPoint method would enable
a better understanding of the research because they will retain the information
better.
